Head Tracking Controls — Use Head Movement as a Joystick or Mouse in PlayAbility

Goal:
Use your head to move, steer, or aim in any game. Head motion tracking can emulate joysticks, keyboard directions, or even mouse movement — giving you full directional control without your hands.

Overview:
PlayAbility detects three types of head movement:

  • Yaw — turn your head left/right (like saying “no”)
  • Pitch — nod up/down (like saying “yes”)
  • Roll — tilt your head sideways

Each can be used as a digital input (press-like action) or analog axis (smooth joystick motion).

Examples:

  • yaw → Left Stick X-axis (steer left/right)
  • pitch → Right Stick Y-axis (look up/down)
  • roll → D-pad Left/Right

Tips for Best Results:

  • Add a calibrate headstick action to your profile to easily recalibrate when your posture change
